Whisky Barrel Stave Candle Holder

This project involved designing and manufacturing a candle holder using a reclaimed oak whisky barrel stave. The aim was to create a functional and decorative product while making effective use of recycled materials. The natural curve and character of the barrel stave were incorporated into the design, creating a unique rustic appearance that highlights the beauty of the reclaimed wood.

The stave was carefully measured, cut, shaped, sanded, and finished to ensure a high-quality result. Particular attention was given to both appearance and durability, producing a product that is practical, safe, and visually appealing. The use of reclaimed wood also promotes sustainability by reducing waste and giving a new purpose to a material that might otherwise be discarded.

The finished candle holder is a strong and attractive piece that combines traditional woodworking techniques with creative design. Fitted with glass tealight holders, it creates a warm and inviting glow, making it ideal for a range of home interiors. Its rustic charm also makes it particularly well suited to weddings, where it can be used as a table centrepiece, aisle decoration, top table feature, or part of a wedding breakfast display. It can also be incorporated into venue entrance displays, memory tables, gift tables, and photo backdrops, helping to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The natural oak finish complements rustic, barn, vineyard, country-style, and vintage wedding themes, making it a versatile and elegant decorative feature for special occasions.
