Shipping Policy

At Chalk & Chisel Woodwork, each item is carefully handmade, and we aim to ensure your order is packaged and delivered with the same care and attention.

This Shipping Policy applies to orders placed through our website for delivery within Ireland.

1. Order Processing and Dispatch Times

Orders are processed once payment has been successfully received. We aim to dispatch orders within the timeframe stated on our website or at checkout.

  • Ready‑made items are typically dispatched within 3–5 working days

  • Custom or made‑to‑order items are normally dispatched within 5–10 working days, once completed

  • Priority or express delivery options, where available, are typically delivered within 1–2 working days from the date of dispatch, depending on the service selected. These options apply to delivery time only and do not affect the stated production or dispatch timeframe.

As our products are handmade, processing times may vary depending on order volume, product type, or the level of customisation requested. All dispatch timeframes are estimates and provided for guidance only.

Delivery times begin once your order has been dispatched and are estimated based on information provided by postal or courier services. Delivery within Ireland typically takes 3–5 working days. Priority or express delivery options may be available at checkout and apply to delivery time only.

While we make every effort to deliver orders promptly, delivery dates are not guaranteed and may be affected by factors outside our reasonable control, including courier delays, adverse weather conditions, or peak delivery periods.

A dispatch confirmation email will be sent once your order has been shipped.

2. Shipping Rates

Delivery costs are calculated at checkout unless otherwise stated.

Any applicable delivery charges will be clearly displayed before you complete your purchase. No additional delivery charges will be added after checkout without your agreement.

As a general guide, different shipping options may apply depending on the type of item ordered:

  • Small and standard items are typically sent using a standard courier service.

  • Larger or heavier items may require an enhanced or specialist courier service due to their size or weight.

The appropriate shipping option and cost will be automatically calculated and applied at checkout.

4. Delivery

We currently deliver to customers in Ireland only. At this time, we do not offer international shipping.

Orders are dispatched using reputable courier services suitable for the size, weight, and destination of the order. Estimated delivery times are provided for guidance only and begin from the date of dispatch.

While we aim to deliver orders within the estimated timeframe, delivery dates cannot be guaranteed. Delays may occasionally occur due to circumstances beyond our control, including courier disruption, adverse weather conditions, customs processing where applicable, or peak delivery periods.

If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the courier may provide instructions to rearrange delivery or collect the parcel. Where an order is returned to us due to unsuccessful delivery attempts, additional re‑dispatch costs may apply.

Where customers request delivery to a designated safe place or provide specific delivery instructions, responsibility for the goods may pass once the courier has followed those instructions.

4. Risk and Responsibility

Responsibility for goods passes to you once your order has been delivered to the address provided at checkout, in accordance with Irish consumer law.

Until delivery has taken place, Chalk & Chisel Woodwork remains responsible for the goods, including where items are lost or damaged in transit. If an item arrives damaged, faulty, or does not arrive, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can resolve the issue in line with our Shipping and Refund Policies.

Once delivery has been confirmed, we are not responsible for loss, damage, or theft that occurs as a result of:

  • An incorrect or incomplete delivery address provided at checkout

  • Items being left in a location requested by the customer

  • Items being left in an unsafe or unattended location by the delivery service

If you believe an item has been delivered incorrectly or left in an unsuitable location, please contact us promptly and we will assist where reasonably possible.

Nothing in this section limits or affects your statutory rights under Irish consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022.

5. Tracking

Where tracking is available, tracking details will be provided once the order has been dispatched. This information is usually sent by email and may include a tracking number and a link to the courier’s website.

Please note that tracking updates are provided by the courier and may not be available immediately after dispatch. Updates can occasionally be delayed or limited depending on the courier service used.

Some shipping options may not include tracking. Where a non‑tracked service is selected, delivery updates will not be available, and we will be unable to provide detailed progress information once the order has been dispatched. Non‑tracked services are typically offered for smaller or lower‑value items.

If you experience any issues with delivery, please contact us and we will do our best to assist where possible.

6. Delivery Address Accuracy

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all delivery details provided at checkout are accurate and complete. We cannot accept responsibility for delays, non‑delivery, or additional costs arising from incorrect or incomplete address information.

If an order is returned to us due to an address error, any additional costs incurred to re‑dispatch the order may be charged to the customer.

7. Damaged, Lost, or Delayed Orders

If your order arrives damaged, is delayed beyond a reasonable timeframe, or does not arrive at all, please contact us promptly. Supporting evidence, such as photographs of damaged goods or packaging, may be required to assist with investigation and resolution.

Where appropriate, remedies will be provided in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation, which may include repair, replacement, or refund.

8. Changes to This Shipping Policy

We reserve the right to update, amend, or change this Shipping Policy at any time to reflect changes to our business practices, legal requirements, or delivery services.

Any updates will be posted on this page, and the revised policy will apply to all orders placed after the changes are published. We encourage customers to review this policy periodically to stay informed.
