At Chalk & Chisel Woodwork, we put our heart and craftsmanship into every piece we make, and we want you to be completely happy with your order. If something isn’t quite right, we will always do our best to make it right — whether that means a repair, replacement, or refund.
We take pride in creating high‑quality, handmade items and aim to handle returns and refunds in a way that is simple, fair, and transparent. Our returns process is fully in line with Irish consumer law, so you can shop with confidence.
This Refund Policy applies to purchases made through our website by customers in Ireland.
1. Your Legal Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under Irish consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and applicable EU consumer protection legislation.

2. Returns (Cooling‑Off Period)
If you purchase a non‑personalised, standard item online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods. This is known as the cooling‑off period.

You then have a further 14 days to return the item
Returned items must be unused, in their original condition, securely packaged, and suitable for resale. You will also need to provide a receipt or other proof of purchase.
Refunds will be issued within 14 days of receiving the returned item (or proof of return), using the original payment method. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return cannot be accepted.
Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the item is faulty.
3. Items Exempt from Returns
Please note that the 14‑day cooling‑off period does not apply to items that are:

This includes bespoke sizes, finishes, engravings, or design requests.

4. Refunds

Once we’ve received and inspected your return, we’ll let you know whether your refund has been approved.

Please note that it can take additional time for your bank or card provider to process and post the refund.

If more than 14 business days have passed since your refund was approved, please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.

We’ll refund the full purchase price, including standard delivery costs where applicable. Return postage costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty or damaged.
